“It is the nightly custom of every good mother after her children are asleep to rummage in their minds and put things straight for next morning, repacking into their proper places the many articles that have wandered during the day.  If you could keep awake (but of course you can’t)  you would see your own mother doing this, and you would find it very interesting to watch her.  It is quite like tidying up drawers.  You would see her on her knees, I expect, lingering humorously over some of your contents, wondering where on earth you had picked this up, making discoveries sweet and not so sweet, pressing this to her cheek as if it were as nice as a kitten, hurriedly stowing that out of sight.  When you wake in the morning, the naughtiness and evil passions with which you went to bed have been folded up small and placed at the bottom of your mind, and on top, beautifully aired, are spread out your prettier thoughts, ready for you to put on.”

God is so amazing.  I cannot begin to grasp the purposes of His doings.  I don’t always understand Him the way I wish I could, or think I should.  But I know that He is all powerful and He has a mighty plan that we cannot even attempt to predict.

Jer 32:38-42
“And they shall be My people, and I will be their God; and I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me always, for their own good, and for the good of their children after them. And I will make an everlasting covenant with them that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; and I will put the fear of Me in their hearts so that they will not turn away from Me. And I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will faithfully plant them in this land with all My heart and with all My soul.  For thus says the Lord,  Just as I brought all this great disaster on this people, so I am going to bring on them all the good that I am promising them.”

Jer 33:2-4
“Thus says the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it to establish it, the Lord is His name, ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”

I pray that I would praise and honor Him no matter what goes on around me.
