Crazy People

This house has been full of crazy people today. We’re getting ready to go camping. There has been so much to get done. Thankfully, it is just about time for me to crawl into bed.

The lawn is mowed. The green beans are picked and fourteen quarts canned. Seven quarts of peaches canned. The car is half packed, just the food and coolers are left for morning. Chocolate, graham crackers, and marshma… wait, I don’t think the marshmallows are packed. That was close. Almost forgot the marshmallows. All the plants watered. Cookies baked.

And one ring lost.

[I am thankful it wasn’t my spoon ring that got lost. But- losing my ring makes me feel sick. My thumb feels naked after having a ring on it for years.]
I am going to go to bed now and try not to cry over my lost ring.
Then I’ll wake up early and go camping.

Have a good weekend.
[and don’t lose any sentimentally valuable valuables while you’re at it.]

I know, you haven’t seen me in a while. I’m very sorry. I have been part busy, part lazy. But that was not what I was referring to in the blog title.

Long time no see.

Yesterday, I spent the afternoon and evening with three of my favourite girls. The last time I had seen them was February 22, 2009.

There is Miss Tandy…

And Ria…

And Bell (on right).

They are three sisters that live in central Oregon.  I have only met them three times and they are some of my dearest friends. (special thanks to the United States Postal Service and Alexander Graham Bell.)  I still can’t believe how all the pieces fell into place last week and then Saturday morning I was on my way down to actually see them. In Washington.  It was so worth the more than two hour car ride.  Turned out to be the most beautiful and warmest day of the year so far.  The best day of the year in every way so far, according to my book.
Except the saying goodbye at the end of the day part.  I could have done without that.

That is my excitement for now.  I shared it with you. I have a list of other things I have been meaning to share with you….

-Some amazing Swedish Almond Rusks and Raspberry Crunch Bars that I made a while ago. I would bake rusks every week if it weren’t for the guilt I should feel after I eat them all up.
-The birthday banner I made for Bell.
-My answer to the questions I get about future college and career plans, goals, and aspirations. And peoples reaction to that.

But for now, that’s it. I hope there is a smile on your face.

{The roses are blooming.}

Summer fun.

Life has been filled to overflowing! Blogging has been hit and miss these days. We’re leaving this morning for the weekend but I thought I should at least share a few pictures of what’s been going on.

There has been so much more going on.  That’s all there’s time for though.  Will be leaving here soon.  Have a jolly weekend you all!

And again, I apologise for the lack of blogging on my part. *smile*

knit…knit…knit…

I have been knitting ALL day.

(no joke)

My fingers are hurting.

I have to be done by Saturday.

I sure hope it all turns out nice. I started knitting yesterday afternoon. (when I realized fair entries are due this weekend) So far I have finished a cupcake, a teapot, and I just have to put a handle on my teacup. I have left to knit: one teacup, one cupcake, and possibly (if there’s time) two saucers, one sugar bowl with lid, a few sugar cubes, and a teabag.

Oh boy.

Back to my knitting….

Busy Busy…

What a busy weekend.  We celebrated my sister, Stephanies’ birthday (several times) and of course there was Fathers Day as well.  It felt good to sleep in a while this morning.

Friday I babysat.  My girls are quite a lot of fun.  I can’t believe how fast they are growing up.  We laughed…a lot.  I think Fridays are my favourite.  I hurried home after the day of giggling little girls to help get ready for some friends to come over. We played games, ate snacks, but didn’t sing Happy Birthday to my sister.  Saturday morning I went hiking with a few friends.  We hiked to Lake Barclay, then up to Stone Lake, and on to Eagle Lake.  It was a bit of a scramble up to Stone and Eagle Lakes, I enjoyed it though.  We came home, all muddy and dirty, got cleaned up and went out for dinner.  It turned into a long day.  I got up the next morning, early, and helped make breakfast for Fathers Day and Stephanies’ birthday (which happened o fall on the same day this year.).  I love breakfast food.  It is so good.  We had cinnimon rolls, sausage links, scrambled eggs, and of course Orange juice, the ultimate breakfast beverage.  I went on another hike with the family that afternoon.  It was rainy and wet.  I kinda liked the rain though.  Later this afternoon will be a game of frisbee, perhaps in the rain.  We’ll see.

I’m hoping for a relaxing week ahead.
